With Sunderland seemingly set for relegation to the Championship, should David Moyes be sacked? Or will the club show faith in him for next season?
With relegation to the Championship looming, Sunderland fans will be desperate to see this miserable old season come to and end in a month’s time. The Black Cats have been struggling all season under new boss David Moyes, and currently sit 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
And despite a number of teams around Sunderland parting ways with their manager over the the last few months, Sunderland have stood by David Moyes through thick and thin. The former Everton and Manchester United has a proven record of success in the Premier League, but at the Stadium of Light things have gone from bad to worse. So should the Scotsman keep his job at the end of the season? Should he already have been sacked? Or do Sunderland need to step away from the hire-and-fire culture?
HITC Sport spoke to Sunderland supporters to get their views and opinions…

“He needs to be gone!” said one Sunderland fan, who was fed up at the whole situation. “He’s not that good” added another fan, “he’s done well at Everton but at Manchester United he did nothing.”
“He should never have been here in the first place” said another Sunderland supporter. Another said “He’s had his time, it’s time for somebody else to come.” But who could Sunderland bring in? A relegated Sunderland might be an appealing project for some, but without the funds to make the changes they need, the Black Cats could be facing a lengthy spell in the second division.
“His decision making, his substitutions, have all been absolutely atrocious” said one strongly-worded fan, who was not mincing his words when it came to the Black Cats manager. “He’s got to prove himself, otherwise he’s finished in football” added another.
It seems the feeling at the Stadium of Light is overwhelmingly negative at the moment. But in fairness, who can blame them?
