The Chelsea captain did not hold back when it came to talking about ex-Leicester and Derby star Robbie Savage in a Champions League press conference.

Hell hath no fury like a John Terry scorned and if Robbie Savage was ever in doubt as to what the Chelsea captain thought of him as a player, pundit and all round person, let’s just say the issue has been put to bed once and for all now.

That assessment comes after the Blues skipper launched a scathing attack on the BBC and BT Sport ‘personality’, during a press conference held ahead of the Pensioners’ Champions League group stage clash with Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge.

Savage has been a vehement critic of Chelsea and, in particular, Terry following the London club’s miserable start to the Premier League season.

The Welshman has not been alone in launching a series of scathing attacks either, with fellow pundits Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher among the other big names to hand out a bashing or two to the Blues in recent weeks.

But while that Champions League-winning trio are seemingly allowed to dish out such criticisms to Terry, according to the 34-year-old, Savage is not afforded the same status as either a pundit or a player.

In fact, Terry took the opportunity presented to him in said press conference to launch a scathing attack on the ex-Leicester and Derby midfielder’s career, despite the fact Savage made over 300 Premier League appearances.

Savage also won two League Cups during his time with the Foxes and is unlikely to take the criticism lying down.

The only question is: Was Terry right to say what he said?
