Is this the year that Sunderland finally succumb to relegation, or is there another Great Escape on the cards?
Sunderland fans must be tired of going through this, season after season, but yet again the Black Cats have found themselves knee deep in another relegation battle. After Sam Allardyce’s heroics last season, the man who looked to have finally turned Sunderland in a winning direction departed to take over the reigns of the England national team, and so the Black Cats turned to former Manchester United and Everton boss, David Moyes.
Moyes’ tenure so far though has been riddled with injuries and signings that never happened. With no money to invest, David Moyes has found it difficult to bring players into the club in both the summer and in January, and now faces a real struggle to keep his team in the league.
But can he do it? HITC Sport asked Sunderland fans for their views and opinions on their club’s survival…

Asked if Sunderland are going to stay up this season, one fan adamantly replied “definitely, keep the faith.” Others weren’t so sure though, with many taking a look at their 0-4 hammering by Southampton and saying “no, not after watching that.”
“There was just no passion, no fight, no game plan” said one Sunderland fan, who was visibly gutted by the way his team played against the Saints. “We can’t string two results together, to be honest, so I very much doubt it” added another Sunderland fan, when asked about their survival chances.
It’s a miserable time for Sunderland fans down at the Stadium of Light…perhaps relegation might offer them a chance to rebuild.
