Aston Villa could be closing in on the signing of Yannick Bolasie.
Aston Villa rescued a point at home to Brentford this evening in a 2-2 draw – and they did it all in front of potential signing Yannick Bolasie.
Villa went into the game having tied up the signing of Lille winger Anwar El Ghazi earlier today, though speculation continued about the arrival of another winger in Bolasie.
No deal was confirmed before Villa kicked off their Championship clash at home to Brentford, and the Bees took the lead through in-form Neal Maupay.
Jonathan Kodjia equalised before half time, but Maupay struck again with just eight minutes to play to seemingly give Brentford all three points at Villa Park.
However, Kodjia found the net again to rescue a point for Villa, and the game ended 2-2 as boss Steve Bruce looks to get Villa back on track after a difficult few months.
The signing of El Ghazi should help that, but Villa also appear to be close to signing Everton outcast Bolasie, with the Birmingham Mail reporting that a season-long loan deal is imminent.
Additionally, Sky Sports posted a video of Bolasie sat in the Villa Park stands watching tonight’s game, seemingly confirming that he will become a Villa player imminently.
The 29-year-old has struggled to recover from a major knee injury in December 2016, and Everton have made him available for loan, with Villa now set to beat Middlesbrough to his signature.
