Premier League duo Arsenal and Spurs have both been linked with Ajax’s Eredivisie title-chasing left-back Tagliafico.

Nicolas Tagliafico has enjoyed a brilliant season with Ajax.
The Argentine international returned to Amsterdam following his country’s disastrous World Cup campaign with his reputation in tatters so it is a credit to him that he is now one of the most in-demand left-backs around after a hugely impressive 2018/19 campaign.
Tagliafico has produced five goals and six assists for an Ajax side just two points off the top of the Eredivisie table while reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League following that infamous triumph over Real Madrid.
The Sun (25 March, page 51) report that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are keen to bring the 26-year-old to the Premier League with Ajax demanding a bargain £15 million.
Though if they were watching Ajax in action during Wednesday’s Eredivisie clash with Emmen, they’d have been left scratching their heads.
After all, Tagliafico scored one of the most bizarre own goals of the season, somehow evading Ajax ‘keeper Andre Onana with a 25 yard back pass.
Fortunately, Erik ten Haag’s side went on to win 5-2 so Tagliafico’s horror moment didn’t matter too much. But such losses of concentration are unlikely to help Tagliafico get his big break in England.
