Queens Park Rangers have made some horrendous transfer decisions in recent years, but which was the worst?

Since their promotion to the Premier League in 2014, Queens Park Rangers have fallen on hard times. Following relegation back to the Championship, QPR have suffered some poor spells under a host of managers, including Chris Ramsey, Neil Warnock and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

However, under new boss Ian Holloway, who is back for a second spell in charge, things are starting to look slowly up for Queens Park Rangers, as the London club attempt to claw themselves away from the relegation zone. Bringing in a number of good signings in January, including Bristol City’s Luke Freeman, Fulham’s Matt Smith and Lazio’s Ravel Morrison, QPR fans know only too well how much good (and bad) signings can affect a team’s form.

With that in mind, HITC Sport decided to ask Queens Park Rangers fans for their thoughts on some of the club’s worst ever signings…

“There’s been a lot” proclaimed one QPR fan, when asked who the club’s worst signing of recent years has been. However, one named that seemed very popular was Jose Bosingwa, the club’s former full-back. “He just couldn’t care less” said one QPR fan on Bosingwa, with another adding that his attitude when leaving the field against Reading, where QPR fans saw the player laughing away despite the club’s relegation, was unacceptable.

Other QPR fans mentioned Christopher Samba, their former central defender. Samba, who had been a popular figure at his former club Blackburn Rovers, was again part of that ill-fated relegation side that still sticks so hard in the memory of many QPR fans.

Some others names to feature included former keeper Cesar, former Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Yossi Benayoun.
