Adel Taarabt looked comfortable on the Champions League stage even though AC Milan went down 1-0 to Atletico Madrid.

Adel Taarabt must be pinching himself. In a parallel world he would be training harder than he ever has done at Fulham under Felix Magath amid a relegation fight. Instead he is dazzling on the Champions League stage.

His switch to AC Milan was certainly one of the more surprising January moves, signing on loan from QPR with his Fulham deal terminated.

Last night he featured for Milan against Atletico Madrid, and as displayed via his fancy footwork in the video above, he did not let the stage overawe him.

Milan lost the game 1-0, but it was not necessarily a surprise. They have been out of sorts all season, while Atletico are enjoying their best campaign for generations.

Taarabt played 90 minutes, rated by whoscored.com as the Rossoneri’s best player. He registered one of the side’s two shots on target, and created four goalscoring opportunities over the course of the match.

After scoring on his debut earlier in the month, something he failed to do for Fulham all season, the Moroccan looks to be enjoying his football at last. The chance to play for Milan is a gift nobody saw coming, and he appears determined to make the most of it.
