Giovani Lo Celso opened his account for Villarreal in his second loan spell for the club after leaving Tottenham this summer on loan – scoring in a 4-0 win over Elche, prompting reaction from Sergio Reguilon and Angel Di Maria.

Lo Celso, 26, spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal. It comes after the Copa America winner has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Antonio Conte. He was brilliant for the Yellow Submarine last term.

He helped Villarreal reach the Champions League semi-finals, eventually losing to Liverpool. Now, he has rejoined the Spanish club on loan without a permanent option this summer. Already, he has clocked up five appearances for them.

On Sunday, he opened his account for the season – netting his second goal in 27 games. Latching on to a little through ball, he curled an effort into the top corner to score a fourth in a win over Elche. Videos of his goal surfaced on Twitter.

Reguilon and Di Maria reaction: Lo Celso scores after leaving Tottenham

Villarreal look incredibly strong this season, picking up four wins from their opening five games – keeping four clean sheets. But for Lo Celso, he looks happier, impressing in a team where he is given some attacking freedom to shine.

He is playing in a side that is filled with ex-Tottenham players, too. Juan Foyth a prime example – and Etienne Capoue in midfield. Argentina teammate Geronimo Rulli is also at the club. Lo Celso looks settled and it showing on the pitch.

Does he have a future at Tottenham? It looks incredibly unlikely while Conte is in the hotseat, after the Italian left him out of senior training this summer. Plenty responded, including Bryan Gil, Reguilon and Di Maria.
