Newcastle United allowed the 24-year-old to join Marseille on a season-long loan in the summer.

Newcastle loanee Florian Thauvin scored a wonder goal for Marseille yesterday, during their Ligue 1 clash with Rennes, and can be seen below via talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old winger failed to settle on Tyneside, after he made his £12 million move to St James Park from Marseille in the summer of 2015, and went on to make just three Premier League starts for the Magpies before being shipped back to France on a temporary basis.

Thauvin has been in impressive form for the Ligue 1 giants this term, however, and is really beginning to show his true class.

He has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 26 league appearances for his side, and Newcastle fans must be left wondering what they could have achieved this season, had the winger been given the opportunity to prove himself under Rafa Benitez.

And he showcased his incredible skill and eye for gaol at the Stade Velodrome yesterday, with his side already 1-0 to the good against Rennes.

An if he continues to display that kind of skill, Benitez will surely want him back amongst his squad for the start of next season.
