It has been a sensational start to the season for Newcastle United, with Rafael Benitez rebuilding a broken club and guiding them to the top of the Championship. The future looks bright indeed.
The mood on Tyneside is the most positive it has been in years, with supporters fully getting behind the club, with Benitez calling all of the shots.

The Magpies lead the Championship after 16 games and are in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, meaning things could not be going any better for Newcastle right now.
Newcastle fans are a very happy bunch as things stand, so here at HITC Sport we decided to see if we could wipe the smiles off their faces – albeit temporarily (See video above).

We headed into the streets of Newcastle to speak to supporters, spoofing them of the ‘breaking news’ that Benitez had just resigned as the club’s manager, and it’s fair to say some fans were pretty rocked – gutted – by the news.
Of course it was just a big wind up, and the fans were more than relieved when they found out that Newcastle’s saviour was still in charge at St James’ Park. The smiles soon returned to the faces of the Geordie masses, who return to Championship action on Sunday away to Leeds United.
