Newcastle United have sacked a lot of managers in the past, but fans think some of them didn’t deserve it.

Steve McClaren was the last manager to be sacked by Newcastle United, and he joins a long his of men to lose their job at St James’ Park.

While some dismissals were fair with the team performing poorly, other sackings were a shock to the fans, and HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay went to find out which Newcastle United manager sackings the fans regret the most. Funnily enough, no one mentioned former England boss McClaren…..

Chris Hughton was the man tasked with getting Newcastle back to the Premier League in 2009 when they were relegated, and he did it with the relative ease in his first job in management – winning the Championship and getting the Magpies back into the top flight at the first time of asking.

The former Republic of Ireland international had a decent start to life in the Premier League, but was sacked before Christmas, with Alan Pardew taking over.

Many fans named Hughton as the manager they most regret the club sacking, and he is now going well with Brighton and Hove Albion, who sit a place below Newcastle in the Championship.

Other names mention include the legend that is Sir Bobby Robson, who was relieved of his duties back in 2004. The man was an inspiration on Tyneside, and his departure was one that hurt the most for a lot of Newcastle supporters.
