Rangers youngster Nathan Young-Coombes is already making a huge impression at Ibrox.
Rangers made headlines in the January transfer window by bringing in Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, whilst Glen Kamara arrived at Ibrox on deadline day.
The Gers also struck one final deal, landing Chelsea’s teenage striker Nathan Young-Coombes in a move which slipped completely under the radar.
Young-Coombes turned 16 in January, and having spent his fledgling career in London with Crystal Palace and Chelsea, he traded in the English capital for Glasgow.
Young-Coombes has been featuring for the Rangers Under-17 side at the ALKASS Under-17 Cup in Qatar, and has been making headlines already.
The teenager scored a hat-trick in a thrashing of Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel earlier this week, and scored against Kashiwa Reysol today.
The official ALKASS Twitter account posted a video of the goal, with Young-Coombes carrying the ball through the Kashiwa defence before producing a superb finish in an outstanding solo goal.
Young-Coombes’ stunning goal comes just after he spoke to the Rangers Ramble about his move to Ibrox, in which he claimed that the Gers are the biggest club in Scotland.
The attacked added that he is ‘quick and aggressive’ but also a hard worker, and wants to progres up to the reserves by the end of the season.
“I got given the opportunity to play for the best team in Scotland and took it,” said Young-Coombes. “I’m a quick, aggressive in behind runner that works hard. My aim is, just turning 16, to hopefully be in around training with the reserves later on in the season,” added.
