Two Manchester City stars were on the scoresheet for their nations in midweek.
For clubs the main factor in international week is players returning healthy with no injuries.
But if players can come back with a confidence boost then it’s all the better, and Manchester City will welcome back two very happy players.
Those are Aleksandr Kolarov and Jesus Navas, who both netted for Serbia and Spain respectively.
Kolarov’s was the pick of the two, a coooly placed shot from outside the box, continuing a theme among City players this season of scoring from outside the penalty area, putting Serbia 2-0 up against Wales.
Navas’ was less spectacular but showed great determination, arriving in the box late to divert a cross into the Chile net for Spain to secure a late equaliser for Spain bringing the scoreline to 2-2.
