With Man City having reduced Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League to just 8 points, can they overhaul Antonio Conte’s men and win the league?
When it was announced that former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager, Pep Guardiola, would be coming to Manchester City in the summer, many immediately labelled City as favourites for the Premier League title. The Spanish manager’s success abroad has earned him many plaudits, with plenty believing him to be one of, if not the best manager in the world.
However, after a shaky and somewhat inconsistent start to the season, Manchester City found themselves falling behind another new manager’s team: Antonio Conte’s Chelsea. The former Juventus and Italy boss has had just the kind of impact many expected Guardiola to have on his arrival, and now look favourites for the title.
However, Manchester City have clawed their lead back in recent weeks, and after finding some form, now sit only 8 points behind Conte’s side. So can they catch Chelsea? Are their title hopes still alive? Or has Manchester City’s poor start hindered them too much already? HITC Sport went to ask Manchester City fans for their views and opinions…

“Yeah, of course we can” said one Manchester City fan, who was feeling very confident about his sides chances of catching Chelsea. “We’ve done 8 points before with less games to go” added another City fan, whereas one other said “it’s never done until the last kick of the match, as we know!”
Many Manchester City fans were keen to point back to their first Premier League title win, where they snatched victory from the hands of defeat against Queens Park Rangers.
“I know it’s a boring cliche but we’ve just got to win every game” added another level-headed Manchester City fan, who wasn’t going to allow himself to get too carried away. “You never know which City is going to turn up, if we win the next 5 like we won the last 5, anything is possible.
