Luciano Becchio has posted a brilliant video of himself celebrating after Pascal Struijk’s goal for Leeds against Brighton. The Argentine was in attendance at Elland Road as Leeds rescued a point in injury time.
Leeds went into the game on Sunday, knowing Tottenham had beaten Burnley. Bettering that result would see them climb out of the drop zone, albeit with Everton and Burnley boasting games in hand over the Whites.
Danny Welbeck had given Brighton the lead and it looked as if the Seagulls were going to nab all three points. But a brilliant assist from Joe Gelhardt – described as the best of the season by Patrick Bamford – saw Leeds score.
Struijk headed in Gelhardt’s cross and sent Elland Road into raptures. One of the 36,638 fans watching was ex-Leeds striker Becchio – who has since become a football agent. He posted a passionate video of him celebrating.
Becchio posts video after Leeds goal – does it keep Whites up?
Burnley and Everton both have two games to play, but results certainly went in the favour of the Yorkshire side on Sunday. Everton and Burnley both lost, while Leeds picked up a really good point against Brighton.
Everton host Crystal Palace and then go to Arsenal in the space of four days – a side that beat them 4-0 in the FA Cup, and a team going for fourth place. Burnley travel to Villa, before hosting Newcastle.
Villa beat Burnley 3-1 away this month and Newcastle are in good form. It could easily be that Burnley and Everton lose both of their remaining two games – and Leeds could lose to Brentford away. Struijk’s goal is massive.
