Liverpool and Everton played out an entertaining 0-0 draw at Goodison Park earlier today in what was a heated Merseyside derby.

Tom Davies, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Luiz Diaz all hit the woodwork, on a day where Jordan Pickford was in phenomenal form with James Tarkowski and Conor Coady ahead of him.

In regards to the latter, he was involved in an interesting moment with Nunez.

What’s the story?

Well, the Liverpool No.27 appeared to mock Coady after the England international saw his goal disallowed for offside in the 69th minute.

As you can see above, the Uruguay international was seen with a big grin on his face after the goal was chalked off, before he made the VAR gesture right in front of a clearly frustrated Coady.

That was as close as either side came to finding the back of the net, despite the high volume of woodwork hits.

Liverpool 0-0 Everton should worry Jürgen Klopp

In our view, Klopp needs to do a lot of work with his frontline at the AXA Training Centre.

The iconic trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah has been ripped apart in recent times with Diaz and Nunez now accompanying the Egypt international, although things are looking far from fluid.

Liverpool also aren’t seeing many midfielders chip in with goals at crucial stages of the game, putting the 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth aside.

As WhoScored shows, Liverpool only managed to get eight of their 23 attempts on target, and failed to score against an Everton side who were yet to keep a clean sheet going into this fixture.

Of course, Diaz and Nunez aren’t bad players – Mane and Firmino have just set the bar very high for them.

It will take time, but Klopp definitely needs to get his frontline gelling again, and quickly.
