The Queens Park Rangers star was warming up for this weekend’s clash at Burnley.
Leroy Fer was busy in QPR training yesterday, scoring the above stunning volley to follow up his long-distance strike against Swansea recently.
The wonder-strike bodes well for QPR but not so much Burnley, who host the R’s this weekend in a relegation six-pointer.
The form otherwise backs Sean Dyche’s Burnley side, with their west London opponents not having registered a single point on the road so far this league campaign.
Fer, however, will hope he can repeat his sharpshooting from training against Burnley at Turf Moor.
| Goals | Assists | Chances Created | Long Shots On Target | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Charlie Austin | 12 | 2 | 11 | 6 | 18 |
| Leroy Fer | 3 | 2 | 34 | 2 | 19 |
| Steven Caulker | 1 | 0 | 7 | 0 | 19 |
| Niko Kranjcar | 1 | 0 | 15 | 4 | 12 |
| Eduardo Vargas | 1 | 2 | 13 | 2 | 15 |
| Bobby Zamora | 1 | 2 | 26 | 0 | 17 |
As Opta stats show, Fer is the only QPR star apart from Charlie Austin to have scored more than once so far in this season’s Premier League.
The Dutchman has also created 34 chances but has, interestingly, only hit the target with two shots from distance.
One, of course, was his superb strike against Swansea City – and his latest training ground effort suggests he may have found his shooting boots on a more regular basis.
Burnley will certainly hope that isn’t the case this weekend, however…
