After defeat to Swansea City, will last season’s Premier League champions end up in the Championship next season?
After escaping relegation in dramatic fashion but two seasons ago under the tenure of former boss, Nigel Pearson, many expected Leicester City to be fighting relegation once again during the 15/16 Premier League campaign, especially after appointing Italian manager, Claudio Ranieri.
However, after just one season, pundits and fans alike were made to eat their words, as the Tinkerman guided Leicester City to their first ever Premier League title, a feat thought impossible by most. But what did the future hold for the Foxes? Champions League football awaited. Was there a chance they could retain their title?
The answer was spectacularly no. Falling back to the relegation dog-fight many expected initially under Ranieri, the Foxes have really struggled this season, and could well become the first Premier League champions to be relegated in the following season. So will the Foxes stay up? Or are Leicester City Championship bound? HITC Sport asked Leicester fans what they thought…

Most Leicester City fans were pretty adamant that their club were going to end the season in the Premier League, with most answering “yes” or “definitely.” However, not all were quite so confident, with one Leicester fan in particular suggesting that the Foxes’ chances of survival were “very 50/50.”
One Leicester fan said he only thought the Foxes would survive because “their are worst teams in the league than Leicester.” A grim way of looking back at the season of the Premier League champions!
“I think it’ll come down to the next two or three games, but right now I’m not confident” added another Leicester fan, who summed up a quiet sense of pessimism at the King Power.
Perhaps the film studio making the Jamie Vardy movie need to hurry up and get it finished, before they have to write in a rather sour ending…
