Fiorentina’s Josip Ilicic is a very skilful player and has been linked with a loan move to Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Leeds United have been linked with a number of players following the appointment of Darko Milanic as the club’s manager last month, and one of them is a Josip Ilicic.
A Slovenia international, the 26-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on the books of Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
Ilicic joined the Florence-based outfit in the summer of 2013 following the relegation of Palermo to Serie B. The highly-rated attacker has yet to reach his best at Fiorentina and has not scored in six Serie A appearances so far this season, although he has created eight chances and has a pass accuracy of 86%.
Last season Ilicic scored three goals and created 20 chances in 21 Serie A appearances for the Viola, while having a pass accuracy of 84%.
It was during his three years at Palermo that Ilicic came to worldwide attention, his silky skills and ball control impressing all Serie A followers.
Below is a trick that Ilicic executed perfectly in a Serie A game against Chievo at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in Verona in January 2011. It is truly a moment of genius.
