Leeds United sit fourth in the Championship after 19 games, but who are their rivals for the race to the Premier League?
After an excellent, and somewhat unexpected, start to their Championship campaign, Garry Monk’s Leeds United currently sit fourth in the table, cementing themselves firmly as play-off and promotion contenders.
Since the former Swansea City boss took charge, Leeds have found their form transformed, and after spending many years languishing at the wrong end of the table, things finally seem to be coming together for the Whites.

With promotion now firmly on the cards, we asked Leeds fans which teams they thought would be their biggest rivals in this season’s race for the Premier League.
“Newcastle…Newcastle…It’s got to be Newcastle” was the reply from most Leeds fans, and who can blame them? Rafa Benitez’s side sit comfortably at the top of the table, despite recent defeats to Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest.
Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa always seemed present among the thoughts of many Leeds supporters, along with Alex Neil’s Norwich, Steve McClaren’s Derby County and Chris Hughton’s Brighton.
The two recently relegated Premier League sides have had mixed form so far this season, but with Bruce in charge, Villa have made big improvements since the early months of the campaign. Derby have likewise gone on a run with Steve McClaren back at the helm, while Brighton are looking like going one better than their third place finish last season.
