Colombia ace James Rodriguez has been filmed reacting to winning the Golden Boot for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Rodriguez scored six goals and was many people’s choice for player of the tournament, thanks to his effortless performances that included a stunning volleyed goal against Uruguay.

He was filmed on Sunday evening as he watched his contenders for top scorer Lionel Messi and Thomas Muller fail to match his tally, and celebrated passionately with friends and family.

Rodriguez’s six goals was the highest amount scored by an individual since Ronaldo scored eight for Brazil at the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan. Brazil went all the way to win the competition in that tournament, whereas Rodriguez exited the tournament at the quarter-final stage this year.

His sublime performances has seen interest crank up for his services over the next few years. Although transferred to Monaco from Porto last season for a fee of €45million, Rodriguez’s success at the World Cup was more reminiscent of a new wonder kid bursting onto the scene.

Following the tournament, the Colombian has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United, despite only having seen out a year of his contract with Monaco.

Rodriguez has commented on all the speculation surrounding his future of late, and admitted that it would be extremely hard to turn down a chance to play for Real Madrid. The 23-year-old said he would go to Madrid ‘with his eyes shut’, and an official approach from the European Champions is expected at some stage.
