Aitor Karanka and Jurgen Klopp are two of the Premier League’s top bosses, but who is the best? Middlesbrough fans give their verdict.
After an excellent start to their first season back in the Premier League since 2009, Middlesbrough and Spanish boss Aitor Karanka have picked up many plaudits this season. With the club currently sitting 4 points clear of the relegation zone, and improving on a seemingly weekly basis, Middlesbrough fans are feeling confident as the new year approaches, both in their team and their manager.
But just how good is Aitor Karanka? After spending a number of years in the Championship, often falling at the final hurdle when trying to get the club promoted, Karanka’s road to the Premier League has not been an easy one, nor has it been a quick one. However, over the last few years, Middlesbrough have consistently been one of the favourites for promotion in the Championship, and have taken their opportunity in the top division so far with both hands.
With this in mind, HITC Sport asked Middlesbrough fans for their thoughts on Aitor Karanka.

“Karanka has taken us a very long time in a very short space of time, so I would say we have to give him a chance” suggested one Middlesbrough fan when asked, if given the choice, whether he’d prefer Karanka in charge over Jurgen Klopp, the popular Liverpool manager.
“Where will Karanka be in a couple of years time? Probably the manager of Real Madrid” suggested another Middlesbrough fan, who clearly rates the Boro’s Spanish manager very highly. The Spaniard seemed a resoundingly popular character at the Riverside, who clearly has the fans onside as the club approach 2017.
