With Chelsea having opened up a six point lead over Liverpool in the Premier League, can the Reds overhaul Antonio Conte’s men in the race for the title?
Sitting second in the table, level on 34 points with Arsenal, Liverpool have begun to fall behind in the title race. Though hot on the heels of Chelsea, Antonio Conte’s Blues have begun to really push on, and now find themselves six points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s side at the top of the table.
Though the season is, of course, far from over, point differences like this at the turning point of the year can be vital for both team moral and for both sides’ title chances, and with Chelsea in such scintillating form, Liverpool fans may be starting to worry whether their much sought after Premier League title is slipping away from them.
With this in mind, we asked Liverpool fans what they thought of their title chance this season.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
“Don’t be daft” said one Liverpool fan, “it’s not even Christmas yet”. Another Liverpool fan suggested that, though Chelsea were “looking good”, anyone who suggested the title race was already over was “not really a football fan”.
“They could have two bad games over Christmas. Look at them last season, they could fall out with another manager!” suggested another Liverpool fan, who clearly questions Chelsea’s title credentials. Another Liverpool fan had a much more sobering view of this team, claiming their aim was just “to get into the top four”.
