With the January transfer window approaching, who do Liverpool need to sign to strengthen their title bid?
Despite scoring a massive 40 goals with season, Liverpool’s season so far has been littered with defensive mistakes and goalkeeping howlers. Though the Reds have, on occasion this season, torn apart some teams with their dangerous attacking front-line of Roberto Firmino, Phillipe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, the Reds have been shaky at best at the back, struggling to beat teams who they simply can’t outscore.
Despite bringing in Cameroon defender, Joel Matip, who has been a hit amongst Liverpool fans this season, the Reds are still struggling in key areas. Alberto Moreno, who had a decent start to his Liverpool career, appears to have gone considerably off the boil, and new goalkeeper Loris Karius, who has now found himself dropped my manager Jurgen Klopp, doesn’t fill many Liverpool fans with confidence between the sticks.
With this in mind, HITC Sport asked Liverpool fans how they think their club could patch up their leaky defence in January.

“I’m surprised they didn’t go for Joe Hart” suggested one Liverpool fan, who clearly isn’t sold on either of the current Liverpool goalkeepers. One Liverpool fans also suggested buying Jordan Pickford, by possibly sending former Black Cats goalkeeper, Simon Mingolet, back the other way in a swap deal.
Other fans certainly liked the idea of signing Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton, adding to the large number of former Saints defenders finding themselves in a Liverpool shirt.
