Son Heung-min has made a slow start to the Premier League season and was subbed during Saturday’s Tottenham 2-1 win over Fulham – the ace was frustrated as he sat down in the dugout, but Fraser Forster went over to console him.
Son, 30, won the golden boot alongside Mo Salah last season. Both players found the back of the net 23 times. But after six games this time around, the South Korea skipper is yet to open his account. Just one assist in six starts.
With Richarlison now through the door, and both Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura also options – Son is under pressure. It could be that the South Korea skipper is rested in their first Champions League game against Marseille.
Conte has already addressed the Spurs star’s form in his press conferences. But it was Forster on Saturday, perhaps showing a bit of leadership to go over the put his arm round Son. The goalkeeper showing he is a leader off the pitch.

Son will be incredibly frustrated. Last season, he set a precedent. This season, he is failing to meet the required standard. Not only are his numbers falling below expectation, but so are his performances. Son is struggling.
The winger looks as if his performances are beginning to become more and more desperate. The longer his goal drought goes on, the more he is becoming erratic. Against Marseille, he needs to be taken out of the firing line.
But it also shows why Spurs signed Forster. In a similar way to the club signing Joe Hart, Forster has come in to become back-up goalkeeper. But also, he adheres to be being a homegrown player – and is a leader off of the pitch at Spurs.
