Worth £30 million? Inconsistent? Not as good as he thinks he is? Or proven Premier League goalscorer?
After a bitter end to life under former boss, Roberto Martinez, Everton fans have been hoping for a quick turnaround under new boss, Ronald Koeman. The Dutchmen had achieved the Saints highest finishing position in the Premier League during his time there, and Toffees fans hoped that he would be able to get the most out of the Blue’s under-performing squad.
One such player who needs a boost is striker, Romelu Lukaku. After joining the Toffees from Chelsea, Lukaku has scored an outstanding 40 goals in 93 games. However, Everton fans would arguably like to see their front-man have more of an impact on the game as a whole, as the Belgium international often finds himself getting isolated.
So how do Evertonians feel about their main man? HITC Sport travelled to Goodison Park to ask them just that…

“What he thinks he’s worth, is £30 million” said one Everton fan, “what he’s actually worth is £20 million, and if we got offered £20 million I’d snap their hand off and go into the market.” A surprising view from one Everton fan, who seemed happy enough to make a loss on arguably Everton’s best player.
Trying to justify this view, the Everton fan in question suggested that “when he play’s, he’s worth the money, but he doesn’t always play.” Clearly Lukaku is a figure who splits opinion amongst Toffees fans.
