Stars from Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Burnley help make up this England team.

With England’s clash with Scotland just around the corner, Gareth Southgate has recently announced his squad for the World Cup qualifier. But are some players unlucky to miss out on a call-up?

Well, HITC Sport has used FIFA 17 to put together what they deem to be the most in-form side possible, but before we get into the team, it must be noted that there a couple of surprise inclusions and omissions…

GK: Tom Heaton (Burnley)

Tom Heaton’s form sees him edge out Joe Hart in goal. Heaton has been brilliant for Burnley again this season, and it would perhaps be a surprise if the Clarets are not battling to hold onto him this summer.

RB: Kyle Walker (Tottenham)

Kyle Walker has enjoyed another excellent season with Tottenham so sits ahead of Nathaniel Clyne in the team. Spurs may not have Walker for much longer with speculation persisting that the full-back is Manchester City-bound (via The Sun).

CB: Michael Keane (Burnley)

Like Heaton, Michael Keane has been an integral part of Burnley’s survival bid this season. Keeping him at Turf Moor would arguably make the summer a success for Sean Dyche.

CB: Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

Gary Cahill’s form may have stuttered early on in the season, but he bounced back in sensational fashion, helping Chelsea secure the Premier League title.

LB: James Milner (Liverpool)

Few would have expected James Milner to have done so well at left-back for Liverpool this season, but that does not explain how Tottenham’s Danny Rose has missed out.

RW: Theo Walcott (Arsenal)

Another surprise inclusion, Theo Walcott is apparently the most in-form right-midfielder England have at their disposal according to FIFA 17.

CM: Dele Alli (Tottenham)

Dele Alli has enjoyed another stunning season in the top flight, scoring 18 times from attacking midfield. It is undoubtedly no surprise that he has been included in this team.

CM: Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

Adam Lallana has been sensational for Liverpool this term, and is perhaps England’s talisman if some of the last few internationals are anything to go by.

LW: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

Raheem Sterling has shone amongst a star-studded Manchester City side, so it will come as no shock that he takes the left-wing role in this England team.

ST: Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Harry Kane secured yet another Premier League golden boot this term, scoring a staggering 29 goals. He is the highest rated player in this England team.

ST: Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United)

Dwight Gayle perhaps surprisingly makes this team according to FIFA 17 after a blistering season in the Championship with Newcastle. He scored 22 times to inspire the Magpies to automatic-promotion.
