Aston Villa have released footage of Unai Emery holding his first training session at Bodymoor Heath, where he appeared to call out Jacob Ramsey.
The Spaniard appears to be a very involved coach as he was filmed taking part in drills with his new players, while he also left John McGinn with a smile on his face when issuing a rallying cry ahead of training.
Emery also showed a desire to iron out mistakes as and when they arise.
Emery calls out Ramsey in Aston Villa training
Well, in one segment of the footage released by Aston Villa, the 51-year-old can be heard shouting what seems to be: “Okay, first mistake. Jacob, press there, when the ball is there.”
Emery stopped the entire drill to highlight the 21-year-old’s error, not in an attempt to embarrass him, but to show the rest of the Aston Villa squad what he wants when they find themselves out of possession.
The Spaniard makes himself very clear, pointing at where he wanted Ramsey to be, as the likes of Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia both turn their heads to see where their teammate went wrong.
Ramsey can thrive under Emery at Aston Villa
In our view, the England Under-21 international could be the biggest beneficiary of Emery replacing Steven Gerrard.
The Spaniard handed first-team debuts to Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal, while he also developed Yeremy Pino superbly at Villarreal.

Emery certainly has talent when it comes to bringing the best out of young prospects, and we believe he could have a tremendous impact on Ramsey at Villa Park.
The Aston Villa No.41 has already racked up 69 Premier League appearances, so he has the experience and also the ability to make serious strides under Emery in the Midlands.
If he listens carefully at Bodymoor Heath and takes Emery’s advice on board, the sky is the limit.
