Liverpool are top of the Premier League following their 6-1 victory over Watford.
The last time Liverpool won a league title, the year was 1990, but Liverpool fans are already dreaming of raising the Premier League trophy come May.
Jurgen Klopp’s side look like real title contenders this time around, having moved to top spot with their magnificant 6-1 victory over Watford, but can they really go the distance and raise the Premier League trophy at the end of the season? HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay went to find out what the fans think.
Liverpool fans before the game
Whether it is over confidence or optimism, the Anfield faithful truly believe this is their year.
Liverpool look terrifying offensively, with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane scaring the life out of the opposition, but they remain open at the back, keeping just one clean sheet so far this season. However, supporters are happy to keep conceding goals – as long as they score more.
With no European football for Liverpool to juggle and just domestic competitions to contest, Liverpool can focus almost all their attention on the league, just like Leicester City did last season.
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp
One fan was so certain that this is Liverpool’s year he said: “I’ll put my house on it.”
There is a great belief surrounding the club right now, and Klopp has got fans dreaming again, having just got over the heartache of narrowly missing out in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers and that traumatic Steven Gerrard slip at Stamford Bridge.
Could the Premier League crown be heading to Merseyside? The Liverpool fans certainly think so.
