Pinch yourselves, Aston Villa fans – it really did happen. After completing a medical and finalising personal terms, Philippe Coutinho is now a Villan.
The £142m man had a photoshoot yesterday in his new colours, before joining the rest of the Aston Villa squad in training at Bodymoor Heath.
Unsurprisingly, all eyes were on the Brazil international, and he didn’t disappoint as he pulled off his trademark skill.
What did Philippe Coutinho do?
Well, as viewers of the Premier League became accustomed to during his time at Liverpool, Coutinho loves to whip devilish curlers into the top corner.
In his first session at Bodymoor Heath, we saw the 29-year-old do just that as he whipped the ball into the top-right corner.
You can see the six-second footage below.
Clearly, he’s done that all too often throughout his career, as the South American barely showed any emotion before jogging back.
Aston Villa squad know they’ve signed a superstar

As the players walked out onto the pitches, microphones picked up what sounds like Tyrone Mings saying: “Never usually this many cameras!”
The Villans should get used to that.
Coutinho has an aura about him. Forget what happened at Barcelona, as things are a total mess at the Camp Nou, and his struggles were not entirely his fault.

At Liverpool, he was among the top ten players on the planet, and now the Villa Park faithful get to witness his otherworldly ability.
Additionally, a player of Coutinho’s ability can lift others. His impact in the middle should lift the likes of John McGinn to another level, as they absorb parts of his game and mannerisms.
With Lucas Digne on his way to the Midlands as well, it’s certainly an exciting time to be an Aston Villa supporter.
