Yesterday, Newcastle announced the signing of Chris Wood in a £25m deal from Premier League rivals Burnley, after triggering his release clause.
Shortly after the announcement, the Magpies posted footage of the 30-year-old training with his new teammates at Little Benton for the first time.
What’s the story?
Well, in the training footage, we see Wood spending time with fellow new boy Kieran Trippier.
The pair appear to bond while jogging during the warmup, speaking to each other as they prepare for one of Eddie Howe’s sessions.
Hopefully, they can strike up a relationship, as their abilities seem tailor made for each other.
Trippier excels at crossing and is an expert from set-pieces, whereas Wood is phenomenal in the air.
In that respect, we should hopefully see the 60-cap New Zealand international get on the end of some deliveries from the England international.
What else was spotted in Newcastle footage of Chris Wood?

In the training ground footage, we can also see Jamal Lewis and Jamaal Lascelles, both of whom have been absent through injury.
If both are fit and available for selection, then that is a massive boost for Howe as he prepares for a massive game against Watford on Saturday.
It’s worth mentioning that Lewis is also a fine crosser of the ball, so if Howe can find a way to get him and Trippier into the final third consistently, Wood will thrive.

Throughout his career, the ex-Leeds frontman has netted 21 headed goals.
The pieces are slowly coming together for the Magpies.
If Howe can find a new central midfielder as well as a new centre-back, Newcastle will be well-placed to secure Premier League survival.
