Centre-back Cresswell is impressing in the Leeds academy.

Charlie Cresswell has been earning rave reviews in Leeds United’s Under-18 side as he continues to impress as a rock-solid centre-back, and he would have caught the attention of fans after posting a video on Twitter.
The 16-year-old centre-back is the son of former Leeds striker Richard Cresswell, who has since taken on the role of head of academy coaching at Elland Road since his retirement.
Perhaps it is slightly unsurprising, then, that Cresswell has been promoted into the Under-18 side – but his performances have been excellent, regardless of his Dad’s position at the club.
He posted a video on Twitter over the weekend after scoring at the other end, finding the back of the net with a bullet header in a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. Niklas Haugland scored a second for the young Whites.
Born in York, Cresswell has been a key member of Mark Jackson’s side and his performances could see him make the breakthrough into Carlos Corberan’s second team sooner rather than later.
However, according to TransferMarkt, Cresswell is also fighting for his future at the club, with only a matter of months remaining on his current deal at Elland Road. It is said to expire in June.
