Celtic have just lifted the Scottish Premier League for the sixth consecutive year. But are the Hoops fans getting bored of winning so easily?
This was meant to be the year that Celtic struggled to win the title. After the return of Glasgow giants Rangers to the top flight, many thought the Scottish Premiership title would finally be challenged in a big way, and that the Hoops, chasing their sixth title in a row, might just struggle. How wrong they were.
After bringing in former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers in the summer, Celtic have grown from strength to strength, and romped to yet another title win this year with ease. Not only have the club produced some of the players of the season, in Moussa Dembele and Stuart Armstrong, Celtic have been playing some of the best football fans have seen for years. How on earth is anybody going to catch them?
And herein lies the problem. Have Celtic now virtually outgrown the Scottish top flight? Is it in danger of all becoming too easy? HITC Sport went to meet Celtic fans to get their thoughts and opinions on the future…

“Never bored of winning” was the response from their fans, who are more than happy to see their team romp the Scottish top division each year. “All football fans want their club to win, don’t they?” said one fan, whereas another added: “It’s the whole point of the game! You want to win!”
“It’s never too easy” added another. “It’s not just about turning up. You get plenty of hard games.” Another Celtic fan said: “I’ve actually been surprised by the standard, because Scottish football gets a panning from most critics. I’ve been delighted by the likes of St Johnstone, Motherwell gave us a hard game. It’s not as bad as people make out.”
“I grew up in the 90s where Celtic weren’t winning everything, so absolutely not!” – Time can change quickly in football, so maybe Celtic fans are right to be lapping it up right now!
