Following Celtic’s SPL title win, Brendan Rodgers has claimed the Scottish giants would finish in the top six in the English Premier League.
After yet another romping of the Scottish top flight, the age old question of ‘How would Celtic get on in the English leagues’ has cropped up yet again. The Glasgow giants have annihilated the competition this year, storming to victory with an enormous gap of 23 points to second place.
With an average attendance of 55,000 fans and a number of players, such as Moussa Dembele, who are attracting glances from Europe’s big spenders, Celtic fans must be wondering just how they would get on if they moved down south. Would they storm to the top of the Premier League with the extra funding? Or would they receive somewhat of a culture shock?
HITC Sport went to meet Celtic supporters, to find out their thoughts and opinions on the matter.

“We’d do well. We’d do great!” said one optimistic Celtic fan. “With Brendan Rodgers, we’d be a top six club” added another, with confidence seemingly brimming around Celtic Park. In fact, plenty of Celtic supporters thought the club would be a top six club, considering the manager they have and the added financial backing the club would get from the Premier League.
Some fans were feeling more confident though, suggesting The Bhoys could well win the Premier League if they got the chance! “We’re the biggest club in the world, we’d still win it!” said one Celtic fan.
“With that money [Premier League funds] we could then buy the world class players” suggested one Celtic fan, whereas another added: “We want the Hazards and the Moratas of the world!”
Another Celtic supporter made the excellent point of comparing Celtic to the current Manchester United side. Celtic are currently playing better football than them, so why couldn’t they make at least the top four of the Premier League? It’s a shame we’ll never get to know!
