Birmingham City fans have experienced some devastating lows in recent years, but what have been some of highlights for Birmingham City fans?
Since the arrival of their now former owner, Carson Yeung, Birmingham City fans have been forced to sit through a lot of pain and misery at St Andrews. From their position under Steve Bruce as a stable Premier League side, Birmingham City have fallen to the depths of the Championship, coming close to relegation on a number of occasions. Going through a cycle of managers, such as former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish, Chris Hughton and Lee Clark, as well as being struck by a transfer embargo, times have certainly been tough for the Birmingham City faithful.
However, under former Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett, Birmingham City have gone through a revival. Slowly but surely, the Blues have climbed the league table every season under Rowett’s leadership, and now Blues fans are starting to wonder whether this season might be the beginning of a promotion push.
With their recent good form under Rowett in mind, HITC Sport asked Birmingham City fans about some of their fondest memories of the club.

“Obafemi Martins’ 90th minute winner against Arsenal in the cup” was the immediate response from one fan, whose memories of their League Cup victory in 2011 hadn’t been soured by the seasons that followed. Perhaps the reason the Cup victory has been such a fond memory for Birmingham City fans, was because they were odds on favourites to be beaten heavily by Arsenal, or “absolutely demolished” as one fan put it.
“It was a mixture of happiness, but I could feel my eyes welling up!” said one fan when asked about his memories of their League Cup win, with many happy to burst into song about Obafemi Martines when the final was brought up.
