Having seen an upturn in fortunes in recent months, are Manchester United ready to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title?

After a stuttering start to life under Jose Mourinho, Manchester United have suddenly kicked into gear. With their new signings finally beginning to gel, the Red Devils are now hot on the heels of the top four, piling the pressure on Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal and their rivals Manchester City. After nine successive wins, and rescuing a hard-fought draw against an in-form Liverpool side, Manchester United are starting to finally look like the United of old: hard to beat, and able to pull a goal out of thin air.

But just how far can this United side go? With the kind of form they’re playing in at the moment, could the Red Devils be in with a shout at winning the Premier League in Mourinho’s first season with the club? HITC Sport asked Manchester United fans for their thoughts.

“Definitely, we’re right back in it” replied one Manchester United fan, when asked whether he thought his club were back in the race. Another Manchester United fan was quick to point out that “of course they were”, because United have “Pogba and Zlatan”. Some United fans also seemed delighted at the turmoil rumoured to be going on at Chelsea, with Diego Costa suddenly disappearance from the side. “There’s uproar in their community. Costa’s gone!” shouted one United fan, clearly delighted at the Blues sudden change in fortunes.
