Kadan Young was handed a chance to shine by Unai Emery during Aston Villa’s 1-0 friendly win over Chelsea in the UAE, and he didn’t disappoint.
After a strong first-half showing from midfielder and academy product, Arjan Raikhy, it was Kadan Young’s time to shine when he was brought on in the second half to come up against Chelsea’s big-money signing, Marc Cucurella.
After a few early efforts to try and beat the £60 million signing (Sky Sports), the 16-year-old finally got his luck and had Cucurella chasing him towards Chelsea’s goal.

That’s when the Villa academy product made Cucurella fall flat on his face, before cutting back onto his left foot and watching his low cross miss his teammate.
It was a moment of magic from the teenager and something to note down for his new manager.
But for Cucurella, it was a moment to forget, as you can see in the footage below.
WILL EMERY GIVE THE YOUNGSTERS A CHANCE?
When Emery was at Arsenal, he was in the dugout when a fresh-faced teenager named Gabriel Martinelli landed from Brazil and to north London.
Then there was a certain now-England star Bukayo Saka, who was also a teenager at the time, and someone Emery handed the first-team keys to.
These are great signs that Emery would be willing to do the same with the Villa academy, which is one of the strongest in the country and only a few years ago won the FA Youth Cup.
