Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez produced a miss he’d rather forget on international duty with Chile.
Chilean star Alexis Sanchez has made a great start to life in Arsenal colours but he produced a miss he’d rather forget while on international duty with Chile last night.
Chile won the match 1-0 so the miss didn’t directly impact on the result but it won’t do his confidence any good heading onto Arsenal’s crunch clash against Manchester City this weekend.
Sanchez will be a crucial player for Arsenal heading into that game as Arsene Wenger mulls over how to setup his attack for the fixture.
Sanchez is capable of playing off of either wing or through the middle, but the arrival of Danny Welbeck on the final day of the summer transfer window means he could be confined to a wider role.
| Team | Pos | Accurate Pass | Successful Final Third Passes | Apps | Mins | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mesut Özil | Arsenal | MF | 133 | 77 | 2 | 180 |
| Mathieu Flamini | Arsenal | MF | 118 | 18 | 2 | 180 |
| Alexis Sánchez | Arsenal | FW | 109 | 56 | 3 | 225 |
| Mikel Arteta | Arsenal | MF | 100 | 23 | 1 | 90 |
| Jack Wilshere | Arsenal | MF | 78 | 29 | 2 | 143 |
If that’s the case then his passing stats in terms of accuracy and final third passes have been impressive already this season and if he can notch up his first ever Premier League goal, the Gunners can claw back some early lost ground on the current champions.
