Arsenal’s pursuit of En-Nesyri
A new report from Spanish outlet La Colina de Nervion claims that Arsenal now want Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
Arsenal allegedly view En-Nesyri as an ideal replacement for Aubameyang. That seems odd as they aren’t exactly the same player, but En-Nesyri may be more suited to Mikel Arteta’s approach.
En-Nesyri doesn’t quite have Aubameyang’s pace, but he is deadly in front of goal. En-Nesyri proved himself a menace for defences with 18 goals La Liga goals last season.
The 24-year-old isn’t letting the Arsenal rumours get to his head. Instead, he’s showing his quality in Sevilla training.
Sevilla have posted a video from training this week, in which En-Nesyri scored two superb goals.
His first was an outstanding diving header, as he avoided contact with a training marker to find the net.
En-Nesyri then hit a stunning bicycle kick. Flying through the air, he struck with his weaker left foot to send an acrobatic effort in.
It may only be in training, but the Moroccan has real quality.
Arsenal will know that his class has translated to competitive success as they consider a 2022 bid.
