Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, a target for Arsenal, has proven his worth with a superb long range goal against Udinese.
With Theo Walcott on the sidelines, Wenger was reportedly eyeing a swoop the Colombian international in the January transfer window, and the speedy winger showed what the Gunners are missing with a great goal against Udinese tonight.
Picking up the ball just inside the Udinese half, Cuadrado ran at the defence before unleashing an unstoppable drive past Simone Scuffet in the Udinese goal, giving Vincenzo Montella’s side a 2-0 lead.
Cuadrado is expected to play an integral part for Colombia at the World Cup, and with star striker Radamel Falcao possibly out of the tournament, much more will be expected of the flying winger.
Should he impress on the world’s biggest stage, Wenger may just rekindle the interest shown in him, especially when you consider that he can also play at right back, where Bacary Sagna’s future looks incredibly murky.
