Yesterday, Leeds suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League clash at Elland Road, which could now have serious repercussions.
The Whites have now slipped to 18th in the Premier League, one point from safety, although Burnley and Everton each have a game in hand.
It is a very tense situation, and the emotions of the relegation battle seem to be getting to the Leeds players, not least Raphinha.
What’s the story?
Well, during the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, some Leeds fans bizarrely decided to keep the ball in the stands at Elland Road as Marcos Alonso waited to take a throw-in.
With Leeds in desperate need of points, it was baffling to see some supporters willingly waste their own side’s time, as Alonso just stood and smiled.

Understandably, the Spaniard was in no rush to retrieve the ball.
Eventually, it was Raphinha who angrily marched over to the fans to demand the ball back, which they eventually returned.
The frustration on the Brazilian’s face was there for all to see, and it now seems very likely that he’ll suffer relegation with Jesse Marsch.
Chelsea defeat leaves Leeds in trouble
As things stand, the situation is looking perilous for Leeds.
If both Everton and Burnley win their games in hand, Marsch would need other results to go in his favour if he is to drag Leeds out of the relegation zone.
However, not all hope is lost.
Of course, no game in the Premier League is easy, but Leeds face Brighton and Brentford in their final two outings.

They are certainly both winnable, and with Everton still to take on Arsenal, there is a chance Leeds survive.
Burnley also have to battle Tottenham, which won’t be an easy game for the Clarets.
As aforesaid, the situation isn’t looking good for Leeds, although they can still avoid a return to the Championship.
