Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst
“Feyenoord hopes that all children and staff can enjoy a carefree day at De Kuip,” read a statement on the club’s website.
They also posted on Twitter before the game with the instruction: ‘A call to all away supporters. Take a little cuddly toy with you to the game.
‘Just make sure there are no hard things in the toy. So no beads and buttons, children from the Sophia Children’s Hospital will be under us in the away end.’

The hosts won 3-1, with the former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt scoring for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, who are top of the table after winning all five of their opening matches.
PSV and Ajax have seemed to dominate the Eredivisie, since 2000 only FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar have won the the league, both the title wins came one season after the other with AZ winning the title in 2009 with Twente in 2010.
The last time Feyenoord won the title came back in 1998/99 season, they’ll be hoping that their wait can come to an end in May.
