Tom Rogic has opened his account for West Brom, scoring for the first time since joining the Championship side from Celtic on a free – curling a gorgeous effort into the bottom corner to draw level against Sunderland on Monday night.

Rogic, 29, left Celtic after nine years in Glasgow in the summer – clocking up 272 appearances for the Scottish giants. In that time, he had a hand in 95 goals and won 17 honours including seven Premiership titles. Now, he is at West Brom.

The Baggies sit in a lowly 17th place in the Championship table after a woeful start to the campaign. Carlos Corberan has come in and won four of his five games in charge – giving West Brom fans hope of a late push for the top six.

On Monday night, ex-Rangers loanee Amad Diallo gave Sunderland the lead – only for Rogic to equalise with a lovely finish. A goal that has become synonymous with Luka Modric, using the outside of his foot. Daryl Dike got the winner.

Rogic has made a tricky start to life at West Brom. Joining the club in September, he has been available for 13 League games but only managed to feature in seven of them. Indeed, Rogic has only started once – coming on as a sub in six.

But, hopefully for Rogic – and West Brom – his goal will be enough to convince new manager Corberan to hand him more of a run out in the next few games. West Brom play host to Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.

Do West Brom and Rogic have a chance of a late push for the play-offs? Without a doubt, if Corberan can keep up his wonderful start and the 80% win rate he currently boasts. That is unlikely, but they can certainly make a late charge.
