Antonio Conte is known to be a stern taskmaster, especially when it comes to pre-season training, and on Monday, we got to see the Italian put his Tottenham team through their paces.

Spurs put on an open training session as a part of their pre-season tour of South Korea, and local broadcaster MBC live streamed the event on YouTube.

We were treated to a few small-sided games, but perhaps the most interesting portion of the session was the fitness test two hours in.

Antonio Conte made his team suffer through full-pitch length shuttle runs, and it’s fair to say that some fared better than others.

Indeed, the likes of Bryan Gil, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Richarlison showed off their impressive engines, while others flagged.

One player who seemed to struggle during this drill was Harry Kane.

As you can see in the below video, Kane was lagging way behind the rest of the team towards the end of the fitness test.

As a striker, Kane has never been one to cover every blade of grass during a game in the way a full-back or a midfielder would, but it was somewhat shocking to see him struggling in this way.

The striker was actually physically sick towards the end of the session, and, to be honest, that’s rather concerning.

Of course, you have to take into account how hot it was in Seoul on Monday and it may well have just been one of those days for Kane, but it looks like he has a long way to go towards getting match fit.

With the Premier League season kicking off next month, Kane needs to step things up if he’s to avoid the slow start he suffered last term.
