Kevin De Bruyne was at it again yesterday for VfL Wolfsburg.
This week Jose Mourinho criticised Eden Hazard for his lack of defensive effort against Atletico Madrid in midweek – and the Belgian should be worried.
Because Mourinho has already got rid of two similar players – Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne.
Mourinho gave Belgian international De Bruyne a chance at the start of the season – but soon tired of the former Werder Bremen loanee and in January agreed he could leave in search of first-team football.
He moved back to the Bundesliga – signing for VfL Wolfsburg for a fee of £18 million.
After a difficult start to his life at the Volkswagen Arena he has been in great form recently.
And yesterday he was at it again.
He scored a wonderful goal against VfB Stuttgart yesterday – smashing home a screamer to give Wolfsburg a 1-0 lead.
And it didn’t get any better for Stuttgart. They scored an equaliser which would have been massive in the relegation race, but a 90th minute strike from Ivica Olic saw Wolfsburg win the game 2-1 – and keep up their chase for Champions League football next season.
