The son of Wednesday legend David Hirst the teenager is a hot prospect for the Owls.
Sheffield Wednesday’s 17-year-old talent George Hirst has shared a video online of his latest goal for the club’s under-23 side as he continues to make a name for himself at Hillsborough.
Hirst scored the winning goal as Wednesday defeated Bolton Wanderers under-23s 2-1 earlier this week. He pressed high up the pitch before dispossessing a Bolton defender and striking a rasping shot from the edge of the box into the back of the Bolton net.
It was a well taken goal and he shared this video on Instagram to highlight the finish:
The player has been hotly tipped at the club, in no small reason because of who his dad is.
George is the son of David Hirst. The Yorkshireman was with Wednesday from 1986 until 1997. He scored over 100 goals in his Sheffield Wednesday career in nearly 300 appearances for the club so George has some big boots to fill.

But he is already proving himself a talent in his own right for Wednesday and made his debut for the Owls first-team in the EFL Cup back in August.
More performances like this and he will soon be knocking on the first-team door.
