The future of Adama Traore is certainly in doubt with the Wolves winger in the final year of his deal – but there was no doubting the Tottenham and Chelsea target on Tuesday night, as he slammed home a stunning goal against Preston.

Traore, 26, has returned to Wolves after a loan spell back at academy club Barcelona. But he finds his path into the first team blocked by the likes of Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and new signing Goncalo Guedes. He is warming the bench.

Missing the first Premier League match of the season through injury, the Spain international only made substitute appearances against Leeds and Tottenham. He was handed his first start of the campaign against Preston on Tuesday.

Wolves edged their Championship opposition out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 win at Molineux. Raul Jimenez opened the scoring, before Traore made it two. Ex-Liverpool man Ben Woodburn got one back for Preston.

But Wolves progress, thanks to Traore’s winner. A £10million Tottenham and Chelsea target, Traore certainly reminded all what he is capable of – including those that are interested. Watch, as he drives a thunderous volley into the net.

What a strike. But is it enough to earn him either more game time at Wolves, a new deal, or a move to either Tottenham or Chelsea? The two Premier League heavyweights remain keen, as we enter the final week of the window.

At just £10million, he is a potential bargain. He has certainly always had that potential. But a lack of end product has always prevented him from reaching the next level. He has scored just 12 goals in 157 appearances for Wolves.

But his strength, power, dribbling ability and work rate is clearly attracting the two London clubs. The chances are that he does move on before the end of the window, especially if Wolves want to bring in a fee for his services.
