Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge today.
Chelsea came from behind to defeat Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
The Reds went ahead after just three minutes, when Martin Skrtel tapped in. But Chelsea fought back and Eden Hazard fired home an impressive equaliser 14 minutes later.
The much-maligned Samuel Eto’o ultimately proved the hero when he scored the winner 10 minutes before the interval. But Liverpool ‘keeper Simon Mignolet will know he should have done better with the Cameroon international’s shot.
The visitors had chances to level, most notably when Luis Suarez twice had penalty claims turned down and Mamadou Sakho hit the crossbar.
The results sees Chelsea finish the year two points behind leaders Arsenal, while Liverpool slip down to fifth.
