Paul Lambert had a happy return to former club Norwich City as he saw his Aston Villa side win 1-0 courtesy of a 30th-minute strike from Libor Kozak. The striker had replaced the injured Christian Benteke just two minutes earlier, and his side-footed finish from Gabriel Agbonlahor’s cut-back proved decisive.
Norwich had already missed the chance to take the lead, when Robert Snodgrass’s penalty was saved by Brad Guzan after Ciaran Clark had handled in the area.
