Tottenham star scored a sensational goal in their draw at Anfield.
Two late penalties dominated the headlines as Tottenham claimed a draw with Liverpool, with Harry Kane missing one and scoring another.
Both referee decisions were contentious – but the controversy should not detract from the sensational goal scored by Tottenham star Victor Wanyama.
The Kenyan midfielder struck a long range effort which gave Liverpool goakeeper Loris Karius no chance, and was quite uncharacteristic of him.
Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Wanyama admitted shooting is not his speciality, and even claimed he had been getting stick from teammates who had urged him not to shoot.
He said: “I’ve had a couple of shots when I’ve come on (in recent matches) and the lads haven’t been happy with me and said I should stop shooting.
“I said ‘I will continue shooting and one day, one will end up in the back of the net’. That day was today. I’m really glad.”

Wanyama has not had a good record of getting shots on target this season, but he can now boast he has a 50 per cent conversion rate from the shots which have tested the goalkeeper.
His Anfield goal will give him confidence to do the same with more regularity – although whether he will ever score one quite as good is doubtful.
Looking at the big picture, Wanyama’s goal was key in Spurs claiming a point at Anfield, keeping up momentum ahead of a big North London derby next week.
Tottenham are in fifth place but just two points behind Liverpool who are in third.
